SFDA announced an update on the list of prohibited substances and materials in cosmetics products imported in Saudi Arabia.
After reviewing the issued reports by the European Chemicals Agency and in continuation of the Food and Drug Authority’s (SFDA) efforts to review and evaluate cosmetic products’ ingredients, the Authority announced that, as of 1/1/2024, all regulated cosmetic products imported into Saudi Arabia will need to follow the new added prohibited substances and materials restricted list. The circular is in adoption by SFDA of the EU regulation update “COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) 2023/1490”.
