Cotecna is officially a Notified Body by the Directorate General for Standards and Metrology (DGSM) in Oman. Our mandate is to issue Certificates of Conformity (COC) for regulated products under Oman Low Voltage Electrical Equipment (LVE) Scheme. This scheme ensures that appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers, and household vacuum cleaners comply with the LVE Technical Regulation, an essential requirement for market access.

1. Which products are regulated under Oman LVE?
- Washing machines (10–25 kg capacity)
- Dishwashers
- Household vacuum cleaners (≤1500 W, ≤50 L dust capacity)
2. What are the main documents needed to obtain the mandatory COC?
Documents needed usually vary according to a lot of factors, however they typically include but are not limited to Request for Certification (RFC) form, Trade/Factory license, ISO 9001 certification (if applicable), Rating label, packaging photos, Arabic/English manuals…etc.
3. How does the process work?
When an exporter submits the required documents, we review your documents, arrange testing when required, and issue the official COC once compliance is confirmed.
