Labelling Requirements for Gas Appliances and Accessories
To comply with Saudi regulations, all appliances and accessories prepared for market placement must meet the following labelling standards:
1. Languages:
- Explanatory data must be shown in Arabic or Arabic and English.
- It should be in a prominent place, clearly written, and difficult to erase.
2. Compliance:
- Data must comply with technical requirements in the relevant standard specification.
3. Mandatory Information:
- A: Product name and trade name.
- B: Manufacturer’s name and address (or trademark, or both).
- C: Special code for each product (indicating production batch for traceability).
- D: Country of origin and whether manufactured under license from a registered trademark.
- Serial number and model number.
4. Instructions & Warnings:
- Must be written in Arabic or Arabic and English and attached to the device.
5. Language Rule:
- Data must be in Arabic; other languages can be added, but Arabic shall prevail.
6. Accuracy:
- All explanatory data must be correct and proven.
7. Content Restrictions:
- Images and phrases on packaging must not violate public order, public morals, or Islamic values prevailing in the Kingdom.
