Mandatory labeling requirements for selected regulated products under SASO technical regulations.
The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has issued a circular introducing mandatory labeling requirements for selected regulated products in Saudi Arabia.
Effective 1 October 2026, products covered under the relevant SASO technical regulations must include the following information directly on the product:
- Supplier name (Importer or local manufacturer)
- Commercial Registration (CR) number
Products that do not meet these requirements will not be eligible for a Certificate of Conformity (CoC), a mandatory document for product clearance through the SABER platform.
Scope of Application:
The requirement applies to several SASO-regulated product categories, including:
- Tanks (including LPG tankers)
- Watercrafts
- Trailers and semi-trailers
- Electrical scooters
- Simple pressure vessels (under Cotecna scope)
- Child restraint systems & strollers
- Building materials part 3 only (under Cotecna scope)
- Solar PV systems
- Electrical lifts
SABER Compliance & Enforcement:
SASO will conduct random checks through the SABER platform, reviewing technical files to ensure compliance with the labeling requirement.
Non-compliance may result in:
- Refusal of CoC issuance
- Regulatory actions in accordance with the Product Safety Law and its executive regulations

Importers, manufacturers and exporters are required to ensure that products comply with SASO labeling requirements prior to shipment.

- Ensure that labeling is aligned with applicable technical regulations
- Verify that the supplier’s name and CR number are clearly and permanently indicated on the product
