The Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality (SASO) has requested a new import process regarding non-medical face masks.
With reference to the circular issued on 02/09/2020 regarding 2 regulations for textile products and PPE non-surgical/medical masks, SASO has announced a new mandatory requirement.
As of 23rd March 2021, all importers and manufacturers of non-medical face masks with the following HS code will have to fill out the below Importer/Manufacturer Declaration when applying on the SABER portal:
- HS 481890000002
- HS 481890009999
- HS 630790970002
All Conformity Assessment Bodies such as Cotecna, will verify during document review that the declaration is attached by the applicant on the Saber portal along with the other required files.
