SASO updated some Custom Tariff Code designations, adding to the number of products requiring mandatory COCs for import into Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) issued a recent notification updating some Custom Tariff Codes thus increasing its regulated products. As of the 12th of October 2024, the affected products will require a mandatory Products Certificate of Conformity (PCOC) and Shipment Certificate of Conformity (SCOC) for successful customs clearance to enter Saudi Arabia.
The update affects products under the Technical Regulations for Lubricating oils and the Technical Regulation for Machinery Safety and the Technical Regulation for Building Materials.

As a result, all products under the affected Custom Tariff Codes now require a mandatory Certificate of Conformity for successful import into Saudi Arabia. Importers can obtain COCs like
the Product Certificate of Conformity (PCOC) and Shipment Certificate of Conformity (SCOC) from a SASO authorized Conformity Body like Cotecna.
Cotecna will conduct the mandatory conformity of assessment to ensure that your products meet SASO standards.
