SASO has expanded its mandatory Ministry of Industry declaration requirements under the SABER platform. Find out which new steel products are affected and how Cotecna can support compliance.
The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has issued a circular addressed announcing the inclusion of additional products subject to mandatory declaration requirements when applying for Consignment (Shipment) Certificates through the SABER electronic platform.
What’s New?
According to the circular, the product listed has now been added to the scope of products required:
- A declaration submitted by the importer
- Approval of the declaration by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources
- Upload of the approved declaration as part of the technical file on SABER
Starting 1 May 2026, CABs must not issue consignment certificates for these products unless all the above requirements are fulfilled.
