SFDA adds mandatory COC requirement for Somalia exports to Saudi Arabia

SFDA adds new products under mandatory regulation. Specifically, beef, sheep and camel meat exported to Saudi Arabia from Somalia.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has issued a circular adding new products under mandatory certification. According to Circular 12074 published on the 7th of December 2022, all beef, sheep and camel meat exported from Somalia must be accompanied by a mandatory Certificate of Conformity (COC).

SFDA also highlighted the following standards and technical regulations for the mentioned products:

  • SFDA.FD/GSO 1016:2015 - Microbiological Criteria for Foodstuffs.
  • SFDA.FD 382 - Maximum Limits of Pesticide Residues in Agricultural and Food Products.
  • SFDA.FD/GSO 193:2021 - Contaminants and toxins in food and feed.

Cotecna is authorized by SFDA to issue COCs for all its regulated products. We can help you export to Saudi. Cotecna can test, inspect and issue a COC for your product(s) in the country of origin, before shipment to Saudi Arabia.
