The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has announced for all food products importers to have their submitted HALAL Certificates issued only from their verified & recognized HALAL Certification bodies.
The HALAL Certificates must be as follows:
1. Halal slaughter certificate
Which includes consignments of whole carcasses, their parts, and the entrails of cows, sheep, goats, camels, chickens, ostriches, poultry birds, rabbits, etc. (all carcasses, parts, and entrails of wild animals that are permissible to eat according to Islamic law that have not undergone any manufacturing processes except cutting and packaging).
2. Halal certificate
HALAL certificate is mandatory on all the following categories:

| HALAL slaughtering of permissible animals | Frozen or fresh whole carcasses and of it’s parts, skins.... etc. (NOT going under any process except packages and cutting) |
| Meat processing | Seasoned, canned, marinated, dried cured and chilled meat ...etc. |
| Animal extractions | Gelatin, collagen, enzyme ...etc. |
| Compound product | Product that contain meat or part of it like pies, pizza, candy, supplements chocolate, sauce, cake ...etc. |
| Others | Any other products that have word “HALAL” or logo on it’s package |
