New Digital Updates Simplify Compliance for Food Importers and Exporters in Saudi Arabia
In alignment with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority's (SFDA) ongoing digital transformation efforts, a new circular has been issued regarding Certificates of Conformity (COCs) for food shipments. The updates focus on utilizing the FASEH platform for electronic processing, ensuring an efficient and seamless experience for both importers and exporters.
Key updates include:
Acceptance of Importers' Requests: Importers can now submit requests for COCs through the FASAH platform for shipments registered in the "Ghad" system. Relevant reports must be uploaded electronically for processing.
Continuation for Non-Registered Products: For products not registered in the "Ghad" system, COCs must still be uploaded through the FASEH platform, accompanied by the necessary fees.
They also added that the SFDA will announce when this service becomes mandatory. Once fully implemented, importers’ requests for COCs will only be accepted via the FASEH platform. Requests outside the platform will no longer be processed by conformity assessment bodies.
