The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has issued an important update on the use of Vitamin A (Retinol) and its derivatives in cosmetic products, published on 14th August 2025. Exporters to Saudi Arabia must comply with these new restrictions to ensure market access and avoid penalties.

Key Dates:

  • 1st January 2026: Production and import of non-compliant products is prohibited.
  • 1st January 2028: Products already on the market must be corrected or withdrawn.
