ECAS stands for Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme

ECAS is a mandatory certification scheme for regulated products that may impact public health, safety, or the environment. It is primarily a Type 1 document-based conformity assessment, where MOIAT or a recognized body reviews technical documentation, test reports, and product samples to verify compliance.

Once approved, MOIAT issues an ECAS Certificate of Conformity, valid for one year and renewable. This certificate is required for customs clearance and legal sale in the UAE.
