New import process requirements for Conformity and Shipment Certificates through SABER for All Imports to Saudi Arabia Starting January 2025
In a move to enhance product quality and safety standards, the Saudi Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority has announced the implementation of some new import processes for all imported products and vehicles entering Saudi Arabia.
Effective January 1, 2025, all shipments conformity certificate and shipment certificate must be issued only through the SABER electronic platform otherwise products won't be cleared.
This initiative aims to strengthen the compliance and traceability of imported goods, ensuring they meet the necessary standards set by the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO). This new process emphasizes the critical need for businesses to register their products and secure the necessary SABER certifications well before the January 1, 2025, deadline. Failure to comply with the new regulations after the deadline may result in rejections in the customs clearance process.
